Gloucestershire Vintage and Country Extravaganza
Steam, Swing and Three Days at the Airfield South Cerney Airfield hosts one of Gloucestershire's best family weekends of the year — the Vintage & Country Extravaganza, run by the Stroud Vintage Transport & Engine Club and now past its half-century. The draw is scale: thousands of vehicles across every category from full-size steam engines and traction engines to classic cars, military transport, vintage caravans and pre-war motorcycles. Two live arenas run non-stop parades and demonstrations — the Alec Tanner Arena for two and four wheels, the Steam Playpen for engines under pressure. The Animal & Countryside Arena adds falconry, ferret racing, shire horses and a Fun Dog Show supporting Teckels Animal Shelter. The 18-piece Midwest Big Band heads a music lineup that also includes Josie and The Radio Tones and Swing Dance lessons, retro fashion shows and a vintage hair demonstration. A 1940s-themed tea room, artisan food zone and 10gaps. Free vintage busrides around the showground are included — and vintage connecting services run to Cirencester and Kemblive in period style.
