WorkshopAround the Table XL IX
Saturday 17 October
📍 Cirencester

About this event
This full-day workshop with green woodworker Rob Thorpe takes you from freshly cut greenwood to a wooden cooking spoon. You will learn to read the grain and natural shape of the timber, then use traditional hand tools to shape the handle and carve the bowl.
Rob will demonstrate how to use an axe and carving knife safely, with guidance as you remove wood carefully and refine your design. The workshop is aimed at beginners, so no previous woodcarving or green woodworking experience is needed.
All materials and tools are provided, but wear sturdy shoes and clothes you are happy to get messy in, and tie long hair back. It is an adults-only session, with food kept out of the studio and water allowed in a lidded bottle. The on-site cafe can cover refreshments while you spend the day making something useful by hand.
Ticketed. Booking required.
