About this event
Sewing tutor Lauren Holloway guides you through a relaxed, cropped overshirt with dropped shoulders across three Wednesdays at New Brewery Arts. You will work from pattern to finished garment, practising run-and-fell and French seams, plackets, cuffs and sleeves, then a collar and collar stand, patch pockets, a double yoke and buttonholes.
The course suits intermediate dressmakers and confident beginners aged 18 or over who have previous dressmaking experience and can use a sewing machine. Pattern, interfacing and equipment are included; bring your fabric, matching thread, eight medium buttons and two smaller placket buttons, with fabric quantities emailed after booking.
Machines can be provided, though you can bring your own with its standard and buttonhole feet. Bring a lidded water bottle and plan to eat outside the studio, where food is not allowed; Blend cafe is on site until 4pm.
The venue has lifts and ramps, but contact New Brewery Arts about access to this particular studio if you need it. Lauren teaches with relaxed, supportive guidance throughout, leaving you with a handmade layer and garment techniques to use again.
Ticketed. Book all three workshop days through New Brewery Arts.
