WorkshopAround the Table XL IX
Saturday 17 October
📍 Cirencester

About this event
Spend a day with experimental archaeologist and potter Tom Chamberlain, learning how medieval inlaid floor tiles were made before creating two of your own. You will choose a design inspired by Cirencester Abbey and the Corinium Museum collection, carve it into a stamp and press it into locally dug clay.
The afternoon brings white-clay infill and a chance to scrape down a prepared tile so the pattern appears as the old process comes together. The workshop suits complete beginners and novice or intermediate potters, with all materials and equipment included.
Bring an apron or clothes that can get dirty, tie back long hair and remove jewellery. The finished tiles are fired on site and may take up to six weeks before New Brewery Arts contacts you to arrange collection.
Ticketed. Currently sold out; join the waiting list.
