About this event
Jamila Gavin brings the wartime stories behind her Nero Book Award-winning novel My Soul, A Shining Tree to Corinium Museum. Lotte is a Belgian girl fleeing a destroyed farm, Ernst is a teenage German soldier trapped in the trenches, and Khudadad Khan is an Indian gunner fighting thousands of miles from home. Their paths meet on a dangerous battlefield ridge in a story inspired by Khan, the first Indian soldier to receive the Victoria Cross.
The hour includes a reading and question-and-answer session, followed by a book signing at Octavia's Bookshop. It is aimed at ages 8 to teen(ish), with adults welcome too. Children must be accompanied, and adults need their own ticket.
Corinium Museum has level accessible entry and accessible toilets.
Ticketed.
