About this event

A king, a stammer and one broadcast that cannot fail

Bertie, the future King George VI, is under pressure to speak for a country heading towards war. When an abdication crisis leaves the crown in his hands, he turns to Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue, and their difficult working relationship grows into an unlikely friendship.

This Barn Theatre production of David Seidler's stage adaptation brings humour and high stakes to the story behind the radio address. Stefan Dennis plays Lionel Logue opposite George Rainsford as King George VI, with Loveday Ingram directing; the age guidance is 12+.

The theatre is a five-minute walk from Cirencester town centre, with free parking opposite after 6pm. It has wheelchair access and reserved disabled parking, and the auditorium opens 15 minutes before each performance while the bar opens an hour before.

Ticketed. The production runs to 7 November with matinee and evening performances.
