Talk & LectureThe Glosters in the Korean War: Why Is It Relevant Today?
Friday 16 October

About this event
What did Beatlemania reveal about Britain beyond the screaming crowds? Social historian David Kynaston and psychologist and author Steve Taylor examine how the Beatles connected with a changing British mood, from shifts in fashion and class to the wider rise of youth culture.
Chaired by Vernon Harwood, this one-hour festival discussion explores the myths of the 1960s and the Beatles' place in a rapidly changing society. It is a history talk about music, culture and social change, rather than a tribute performance.
Bingham Hall's main hall is wheelchair accessible, with accessible toilets nearby. Parking on King Street is limited, and the festival recommends the Forum and Beeches car parks.
Ticketed.
