Defixio! Make Your Own Curse Tablet (Age 8+ish)

Write a Roman grudge of your own

The Romans wrote secret curses on lead tablets and threw them into springs to hex their enemies. Their complaints ranged from stolen cloaks to chariot rivals, and this workshop turns that strange corner of Roman life into a practical history session where children can inscribe a spooky curse tablet of their own.

The 90-minute session is aimed at children aged 8+(ish), and the organiser says parents can drop and go. Corinium Museum has disabled access and accessible toilets, although the workshop materials and room-specific arrangements are not published.
