About this event

What was on the Viking table?

Emma Kay leads a hands-on look at the food rituals of Vikings living in Britain from the ninth to the eleventh century. You will hear about the winter festivals Vetrnaetr and Alfablot, then taste ancient-grain bread and non-alcoholic mead.

The session also explores the Norse idea of elves as formidable beings rather than tiny helpers, and participants can make a traditional clay pinch pot to take home. It is aimed at ages ten to adult, but no dietary or allergy guidance is published.

Ticketed. Sold out. Please join the waiting list if interested.
