About this event
Professor Daisy Fancourt discusses Art Cure and the research connecting creative activity with health. The book considers both making art and experiencing it, from singing and dance to galleries and live music.
Its subjects include the relationship between the arts and stress, pain, loneliness and frailty. Fancourt is UCL's Professor of Psychobiology and Epidemiology and leads the World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre on Arts and Health, with research spanning social connections, cultural activity and social prescribing.
The evening is presented with The Yellow Lighted Bookshop, and copies of Fancourt's books will be available to buy. Doors open at 6.45pm for the 7.30pm talk, with a licensed bar at the venue.
The ground floor and accessible toilet are step-free, while the raked seating has steps. Floor-level accessible seats and wheelchair spaces are available; contact the venue before booking to arrange what you need and check hearing-loop provision for this talk.
The adjacent Old Railyard long-stay car park is free and shared with other visitors, so allow extra time to find a space. Names are checked at the box office, and printed tickets are not required.
Ticketed, with adult, student and under-18 options. Normal bookings cannot be refunded or exchanged; exceptions for cancelled or changed events follow the booking policy.
