Music & ArtsThe Songs of Nick Drake: Keith James with Richie Cotterill
Saturday 31 October
📍 Tetbury

About this event
Orchestra of St John's joins pianist Derek Paravicini for the second of two different Tetbury concerts, continuing their long-standing partnership. Paravicini works across classical music, jazz and improvisation, with listening and spontaneous musical responses central to his practice.
The programme begins with Arensky's Variations on a Theme by Tchaikovsky and Jeremy Lubbock's Moods, written especially for Derek. Piazzolla's Oblivion and a solo piano appearance by Paravicini lead towards Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings.
Audience requests are part of the advertised experience, with familiar tunes transformed and music recreated after a single hearing. Proceeds support OSJ's Music for Autism programme, bringing professional concerts and interactive workshops to autistic children and young people in specialist schools across the UK.
Tickets can be booked for this concert alone or as a two-concert option covering 23 and 30 January. The combined option is for one person and includes a glass of prosecco on arrival at each concert; the two evenings have different programmes.
Doors open at 6.45pm for a 7.30pm start. No running time, interval, finishing time or age guidance is published.
The foyer, hall, box office, cafe and accessible toilet are on the accessible ground floor. Standard seating is raked with steps and a handrail; ask before booking about floor-level access places, of which the venue can provide up to ten subject to arrangements.
Hearing-loop provision is unconfirmed for this concert and is limited for acoustic performances or acts using their own sound system. Contact the venue about individual access needs before booking.
The adjacent free Old Railyard long-stay car park has 75 standard spaces and six Blue Badge spaces. Allow extra time at busy performances, check current restrictions and approach from Cirencester Road; Gumstool Hill is a dead end with no vehicle access to the car park.
Tickets do not need printing, as names are checked at the box office. A licensed bar is available; confirm its opening time with the venue.
Ticketed, with single-concert and two-concert options. Confirm access arrangements with the venue before booking.
