A Summer Fête and a Walk Across the Commons

Two events, one day, same Longfield Hospice base. The Summer Fête runs across the hospice grounds in Burleigh Lane from morning to evening — and the Walk for Longfield sets off from the same spot, taking in Minchinhampton and Rodborough Commons before looping back in. Do one, do both, or just turn up and see where the day takes you.

The fête has food and drink vendors, artisan stalls, games, and family activities, with live music running throughout. It's the kind of event that fills a field properly — the sort you wander into for an hour and leave four hours later. The charity walk adds a different dimension: a route across some of the best common land in Gloucestershire, with the satisfaction of coming back to a cold drink and a good cause at the end of it.

Free to attend the fête — no booking needed. The Walk for Longfield registers separately at longfield.org.uk. Either way, you're raising money for a hospice that means a great deal to this part of the Stroud valleys.
