About this event
Nine days after this recital, Jeneba Kanneh-Mason plays her solo debut at Wigmore Hall, the London stage every serious pianist measures themselves against. The Goods Shed gets her first.
She's the third of the seven Kanneh-Mason siblings to build a solo career on the concert platform, and hers has accelerated fast: a BBC Proms debut with the Chineke! Orchestra playing Florence Price's Piano Concerto, then an exclusive signing to Sony Classical. Her 2025 debut album, Fantaisie, was Classic FM's Album of the Week, drew an Edison Award nomination, and has just been shortlisted for the BBC Music Magazine Newcomer Award.
The Tetbury programme runs Scarlatti's Sonata in E minor Kk.98 into Mozart's Sonata No. 10 in C major, then hands the second half entirely to Chopin's Four Ballades, four of the most demanding pieces in the solo piano repertoire, played complete in one sitting.
A licensed bar runs through the evening, and under the shed's original freight-era roof this kind of programme sits closer than it would in a formal concert hall.
Catch her here before the rest of the country catches up.
