About this event
Steve Morgan has spent years leading Jack the Ripper Walks through Whitechapel, taking groups past the actual murder sites after dark. Before that he won Leicester Comedy Festival's Comedian of the Year award and worked in TV and radio production alongside people including Michael Portillo, Noel Gallagher and Ian Wright. An Evening with Jack the Ripper takes that same walking-tour research and adapts it for a seated audience rather than a pavement.
The show runs as two 40-minute acts with an interval, working through the five Whitechapel murders of autumn 1888, the police investigation as it was actually run at the time, and the range of suspects historians and writers have proposed since. Recommended for ages 12 and up.
Morgan doesn't offer a tidy solution, he lays out what the case file held and lets the arguments run, which is closer to how the real investigation actually felt.
