Weave a Willow Reindeer

Give willow a pair of antlers

Make a reindeer to take home while learning willow techniques used in basketry. Traditional hand tools and a block weave help you build its legs, body and neck before shaping the head and adding antlers, a festive nose and winter details.

Tutor Nav Chhina grows, harvests and weaves her own willow at Broadbridge Willow in North Cerney. Complete beginners are welcome, but this workshop is for adults aged 18 and over and needs good hand strength and manual dexterity.

Materials and equipment are supplied; bring a lidded bottle or cup, and leave food and unlidded drinks outside the studio. Brush Studio is on the first floor with stairs and lift access, and the nearby pay-and-display Brewery Car Park has disabled spaces.

Contact New Brewery Arts when booking if you need access arrangements or find standing difficult. Book more than two weeks ahead, as the venue reviews bookings then and may cancel undersubscribed classes; you leave with a handmade decoration to bring out each Christmas.

Ticketed. Advance booking required through New Brewery Arts.
