Talk & LectureJamila Gavin: The Children of WWI (Age 8 to Teens and Adults)

About this event
Alexia Clark of the Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre explains how the MOD team identifies British service personnel missing from the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. Based at Imjin Barracks in Gloucester, the team combines historical research and genealogy with DNA testing where it can help establish an identification.
The church hall has level access and an accessible toilet. The church has no car park of its own, so allow time to park at nearby Brewery or Sheep Street car parks.
That work can lead to a grave being rededicated or a dignified burial for someone whose identity was lost. If you are interested in family history or the human consequences of war, this talk follows the investigation through to what happens after a name is recovered.
Admission at the door; visitors welcome. Members and students in full-time education attend free.
