The Art of Sashiko Repair Stitch

Learn a slower stitch for textile art and useful repairs

Textile designer Lichen Davenport leads a full day of traditional Sashiko hand stitching at New Brewery Arts. You will work through authentic patterns and symbolic motifs that can become textile art or help repair and refresh treasured clothes.

The workshop is for adults aged 18 and over, and suits complete beginners as well as experienced makers interested in slow stitching and sustainable practice. All materials are included, and you will take home a small sewing kit to continue practising.

Bring a lidded bottle of water if useful, but leave food and unlidded drinks out of the studio. New Brewery Arts says its studios are wheelchair accessible, with lift access and an accessible toilet, and asks visitors to mention access needs when booking.
