About this event

Learn what happens between copper and the kiln

Spend a day with enamel artist Katie Sanderson learning how powdered glass becomes a bright, hard-wearing surface on copper. You will prepare the metal, then try dry-sifting, wet-packing, painting and colour mixing with demonstrations and one-to-one guidance.

The day also covers kiln temperature, hold times, cooling and the finishing work needed before your pieces are ready to take home. It suits beginners and anyone after a refresher, and all materials and equipment are included.

This workshop is for adults aged 18 and over. Bring an apron or wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty, tie back long hair and remove jewellery; a lidded water bottle is welcome, but food stays outside the studio and Blend cafe is open for refreshments.

New Brewery Arts has lifts, ramps, a ground-floor accessible toilet and disabled parking in the adjoining Brewery Car Park. Sheep Street long-stay car park is about five minutes away, and Kemble station is three miles from Cirencester.

Ticketed. Booking required.
