FamilyThe Big Bat Trail - October Half Term Family Fun
Saturday 24 October
📍 Painswick

About this event
Painswick Rococo Garden's winter trail leads past illuminated follies into a woodland world watched over by the Woodland Queen. New for 2026 are young nocturnal animals, a larger miniature village with a pub, church and post office, and a river of light beneath the trees.
Allow around two hours to explore and stop for seasonal refreshments, with local artists' gifts to browse afterwards. Your visit supports the charity's care for the historic garden, wildlife habitats and community work.
The trail opens on selected evenings from 27 November to 2 January, with timed arrivals rather than daily access. Sensory-sensitive sessions on 29 November and 10 December, and the New Year's Eve event on 31 December, have separate bookings.
Wrap up warmly and wear shoes suited to steep, uneven paths; the garden does not recommend wheelchair or mobility-scooter use. Free parking is available, dogs on leads are welcome, and benches and handrails offer places to pause along the way.
Ticketed; book a timed arrival. Tickets are non-refundable; transfers depend on availability, and a booking account makes date or time changes easier. Carers of disabled visitors enter free.
