A forest walk beneath light tunnels and glowing treetops

Christmas at Westonbirt winds through the Old Arboretum past Christmas Cathedral, Fire Garden, Sea of Light and interactive Ribbon Tunnels. The circular route is about 1.6km and usually takes one and a half to two hours, with Father Christmas appearing along the trail rather than meeting children individually.

It runs on selected evenings from 27 November to 31 December, with timed entry and limited capacity. The Christmas Village has food, drink and fairground rides before or after the walk, with separate charges for those extras.

Dress for winter and wear footwear suited to slopes and uneven ground, and bring a torch for darker sections. Allow 15 minutes to walk from the car park to the trail entrance; assistance dogs are permitted, but other dogs cannot join the trail.

Relaxed twilight sessions with reduced audio run on 28 November, 4 December, 10 December and 16 December. They offer another option for visitors with additional needs who would prefer lower visitor numbers.

Ticketed; book your entry time and parking in advance. Infants and personal assistants also need tickets, and trail tickets do not include daytime arboretum admission. Tickets are non-refundable; an available alternative of the same value can be selected in your account up to one day before your visit.
