Walking Roman Cirencester

📅 Friday, 11 December 2026 at 10:15📍 Meet at Corinium Museum, Park Street, Cirencester, Gloucestershire GL7 2BX

About this event

From Roman walls and the amphitheatre to the museum galleries

Archaeologist Dr Alison Grierson-Brookes leads a walk through Roman Cirencester, including parts of the town wall and the amphitheatre. The two-hour outdoor section is followed by refreshments, museum entry and a guided visit to the Roman galleries lasting about an hour.

Corinium Museum runs the outing with Cotswold Heritage Walks, with places limited to 12. Wear good walking shoes: the route is mostly flat but includes uneven ground.

The museum has accessible toilets, quiet spaces and a wheelchair to borrow. Check the outdoor route's suitability before booking if you have access needs, as the museum's facilities do not establish access along the walk.

Ticketed. Booking recommended; refreshments and museum entry are included.
