The Ultimate Eagles

The Subscription Rooms is a Georgian hall on George Street that's been running live music for over a century, and it's one of the better venues in the region for this kind of show — intimate enough to feel the sound properly, big enough to do the material justice. The Ultimate Eagles fill it on a Saturday in August.

This is not a lookalike act. The band draws on musicians who've performed alongside Queen, Roger Daltrey, Van Morrison and others, and their focus is on the harmonies and guitar work that made the Eagles catalogue what it is — Hotel California, Life in the Fast Lane, Take it Easy, the lot. They've played to over a million people internationally, and the Mail on Sunday called it "superb — real musicians with real passion." Seated show, doors at 6:30pm, music from 7:30pm.
