About this event
Cotswold Players brings Agatha Christie's The Hollow to Stroud, with a weekend gathering unsettled by an unexpected arrival and a sudden death. Quick-witted dialogue sits alongside old passions, strained family relationships and unrequited love.
This is Christie's 1951 stage adaptation of her 1946 novel, which removes Hercule Poirot and puts the guests themselves at the centre of the story. The production is staged by the volunteer-run Cotswold Players.
Wednesday doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start, with no running time or finish published. Murder and death are part of the story; no production age rating has been announced.
The venue does not admit under-3s unless a show is specifically advertised as an exception, and no exception is listed here. Anyone under 16 must attend with an adult aged 18 or over.
Online and telephone booking closes one hour before the performance; call 0333 666 3366 if booking by phone. Any remaining seats may be sold at the theatre box office from half an hour before curtain, but availability is not guaranteed.
Tickets are refunded only if the show is cancelled. Exchanges to another performance of the same production depend on availability and must be arranged with the venue, rather than the ticket agent.
Row A is step-free and has two wheelchair spaces that must be booked in advance; the other raked rows have steps and a central handrail. Lifts serve the floors and stage, and the venue has an accessible toilet, baby-changing facilities and a sound loop.
Support dogs can be accommodated only in the front row and need advance arrangements through boxoffice@cotswoldplayhouse.co.uk. Reduced carer admission also needs advance booking and is unavailable on the door; it does not apply to the ordinary adult accompanying an under 16.
There is no dedicated accessible parking, though the venue may be able to hold a space if contacted ahead. Parliament Street Car Park, opposite the police station, is free in the evening and about five minutes away on foot; check current signs and park considerately.
Owner review: the actual Parliament Street theatre pin falls outside the Cotswolds National Landscape boundary. Retain this listing for a coverage decision, with a mapped-point accuracy caveat.
Ticketed. Book wheelchair spaces, support-dog arrangements and reduced carer admission in advance.
