Make silver jewellery for Christmas

Spend a full day at Lechlade Craft Barn making sterling silver jewellery with Fiona Dowling of Jewellery Moves. The Christmas special brings several silversmithing projects into one workshop, with bangles, earrings and spinner rings on the table, plus the option to combine bronze with silver.

You will learn to saw, solder, file, hammer, hand-stamp and finish your pieces, with texture work part of the session. It suits beginners as well as people with some experience, and the minimum age is 14; anyone aged 16 or under must attend with a participating adult who has also booked.

Tools, tea, coffee and biscuits are included, but silver and other materials cost extra and are paid to the tutor on the day. Bring lunch, tie back long hair and pack glasses if you use them.

The Craft Barn is reached by external stone steps with handrails, so it may not suit anyone with mobility issues. The 6 November session is sold out, while the organiser lists separate bookable sessions on 9 November and 3 December.
