About this event

How a town's history became a museum

Shipston Museum trustees Bekky Hillman and Stephen Hartley give an illustrated talk about the museum's early days and development. They trace the story behind a collection built to preserve local memories and objects.

Townsend Hall has its own link to that history: the local history society held an exhibition here in October 1965. Members even stayed overnight to guard the exhibits.

Advance tickets are available from Richard Harveys and The Flower House in Shipston-on-Stour. Door sales depend on availability. Under-16s must attend with a parent or legal guardian.

The hall has level entry throughout, with a mobile stage lift available on request. Free parking is available by Shipston Museum and in town-centre car parks. Hear the museum's story in a hall that was part of it.

Ticketed. Buy in advance locally.
