About this event
Cotswold Players stage John Salter's new drama about Gracethorpe, a fictional South Yorkshire mining village living through the 1984 to 1985 strike. The story follows individuals through a year of hardship, with the Battle of Orgreave at its centre.
Government and unions, police and miners, and striking and working miners pull the story in different directions. The play leaves the audience to weigh those competing claims, and contains language some may find offensive in context.
Under 16s must attend with an adult aged 18 or over, and children under three cannot attend unless a performance specifically allows them. Arrange wheelchair access in advance: Row A has two spaces without steps, while other seating rows involve steps.
The venue has lifts, an accessible toilet and a hearing loop, but no dedicated disabled parking; contact the team about parking support before your visit. Choosing a suitable seat in advance leaves the evening for the drama and its unanswered questions.
Ticketed. Online and telephone bookings close one hour before the show; any remaining seats are sold at the box office from 7pm. Tickets are non-refundable unless the show is cancelled, with exchanges to another performance subject to availability.
