About this event
John Salter's new play follows people in the fictional South Yorkshire village of Gracethorpe through the hardships of the 1984-85 miners' strike. The Battle of Orgreave is central to a story that sets miners and police, government and unions, and striking and working miners on opposing sides.
The production invites you to weigh those competing perspectives, with the north-south divide running through the arguments. It offers a serious evening of community theatre for anyone interested in how a national confrontation changed ordinary lives.
Row A is step-free, with two wheelchair spaces that must be booked in advance; other seating rows require steps. The theatre has lifts, an accessible toilet and a sound loop, and support dogs can be accommodated by prior arrangement.
Parliament Street Car Park is free in the evenings and about five minutes' walk away. There is no dedicated disabled parking, so contact the theatre beforehand if you need help with arrival arrangements.
Ticketed. Advance booking recommended.
