About this event
Ten years on from her death, Victoria Wood gets the send-off she deserves — not a solemn tribute, but a full-blooded celebration of the songs that made her a national treasure.
Paulus The Cabaret Geek (familiar from BBC1's All Together Now) performs with pianist Michael Roulston of Fascinating Aïda, in a show directed by Sarah-Louise Young — the multi-award-winning force behind An Evening Without Kate Bush. Expect 'Ballad of Barry & Freda', 'It Would Never Have Worked', and a setlist assembled with input from Victoria's own school friends, family, and colleagues. As one reviewer put it: "She's not just being remembered, she's being relived."
If you were ever fond of her work — and frankly, who wasn't — this is a rare chance to spend a Friday evening with someone who still feels very much present.
