Half Term Woolly Day with Stroudwater Textile Trust

Watch a spinning wheel turn, then try simple weaving

Children aged 3 to 11 and their grown-ups can join free craft activities with volunteers from Stroudwater Textile Trust, watching a spinning wheel in action and trying simple weaving. The volunteer-run Trust keeps local textile skills connected to the Stroud Valleys' woollen heritage.

There will also be three handmade puppets to meet: William Sheepspeare, Puck and the Wizard, brought along by local puppeteer Anthony. Short pop-up shows are planned for 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm, and these do not need booking.

Weaving places do need booking, with sessions at 10am, 11.30am and 1pm. Museum in the Park is free to enter and has step-free access through the museum grounds. A free car and coach park is shared with the leisure centre about 400 metres away, followed by a five-minute walk through Stratford Park to the museum.

Free entry. Book a weaving session via Stroudwater Textile Trust; the puppet shows are drop-in and do not need booking.
