About this event
If you haven't seen Cinema Paradiso, this is the one. If you have, you know exactly why it's worth seeing again on a proper screen.
Giuseppe Tornatore's 1988 masterpiece follows Totò, a boy growing up in a small Sicilian village, and his bond with Alfredo, the gruff projectionist at the local cinema. It's funny, tender, nostalgic, and builds to an ending that has reduced audiences to tears for nearly four decades.
The Cotswold Playhouse is showing it in Italian with English subtitles — no ads, no trailers, film starts at 7:30 prompt.
Tickets are £5–£8, doors open at seven.
One of those evenings you'll be glad you didn't spend on the sofa.
