About this event
The Thames and Severn Canal has been quietly stitching Stroud to the wider waterway network since 1789, and Wallbridge Lock is where it begins. The Cotswold Canals Trust runs these trips every Saturday through the summer, picking up and dropping off at Bell House while volunteers on board fill you in on the canal's history and the ongoing restoration work.
Each trip is a 30-minute cruise aboard Perseverance, heading east from Wallbridge Lock and back. You pass through a stretch of restored navigation that most people walk past without looking twice: lock chambers, stone bridges, and the soft industrial landscape of the Stroud valleys. Departures run every 45 minutes from 10am to 3:45pm, so there's no need to rush.
Adults £7, under-16s £4, under-3s free. Book at the Wallbridge Visitor Centre or in advance.
