Stratford Park's Four Free Fridays

Stroud's Active Lifestyles team has put together a six-hour programme running every Friday in August at Stratford Park. The site is a good choice for a full day: the park itself is expansive, the Museum in the Park is right there for when you need shade or a sit-down, and there's enough variety in the activity list to keep different ages occupied at the same time.

Free activities run throughout: tennis and tennis coaching from 10am, arts and crafts until 2pm, Little Kickers football taster sessions until 1pm, yoga for families, garden games, live music, museum activities and exhibitions. Fire engine visits and the slip and slide both run 2–4pm.

Paid extras are mostly £2 each: mini golf, surf simulator, face painting, and an Inflatable Mountain. The Tanker and Mini Lobster inflatable water session runs 1:10–1:55pm at £3.75 for children and £6.20 for adults. Indoor swimming opens 3–4pm at £3.30 for children and £5.50 for adults. Bubble football is £5 a session and needs advance booking.
