About this event

Work into blue cloth, one stitch at a time

Into the Blue is a full-day textile workshop built around hand stitching into cyanotype samples, with Dorothy Tucker providing the blue cloth, materials and threads. You will work lines, textures and patterns into the designs, then create stitched samples to take home.

Dorothy's textile practice is informed by Kantha, the embroidered quilts of Bangladesh, and uses stitch to draw, add colour and create texture. The session is for adults of all abilities; bring assorted needles, pins, a thimble and sharp-pointed scissors, plus a packed lunch. It is a practical, exploratory day with finished samples to take away.

The museum has step-free access, a lift and a gallery ramp, although the exact workshop-room layout is not published. Contact the museum if you need a specific arrangement.
