About this event
The Corinium Museum holds one of the finest collections of Romano-British finds in the country, but this summer it's the Anglo-Saxons who get the workshop space. In a ninety-minute hands-on session, you'll learn the weaving techniques used across early medieval Britain and leave with a wall hanging you've made yourself, based on Anglo-Saxon designs.
Led by the museum team, the session covers the basics of traditional hand-weaving — how the warp and weft work, how pattern is built up, and what those geometric and interlaced motifs meant to the people who first used them. No experience needed; materials are provided.
Book in advance at coriniummuseum.org — places are limited and this one fills up.
