About this event
Willow doesn't look like flower material until you've watched someone split a rod and pair it into a petal shape. At this Lechlade Craft Barn session, tutor Kelly walks beginners through exactly that: splitting the rods, working the pairing weave, and building up petals into full decorative blooms.
You'll cover the different willow varieties and how each is prepared before it's workable, then build a flower sized and styled the way you want, with a stalk added if you want to stake it into a garden bed rather than display it indoors. No prior weaving experience needed. Tea, coffee and biscuits are included, with a small extra materials charge settled with the tutor on the day.
Willow work rewards patience more than skill, and by the end of the afternoon you'll have made something you couldn't have picked up in a shop.
