About this event
Lechlade Craft Barn runs workshops across the seasons, and this one gives beginners a proper introduction to willow weaving. Tutor Kelly covers the material first — different varieties, how it's prepared, and why certain types suit different uses — before getting into the corn dolly weave that underpins the session.
You choose what to make on the day: decorative bullrushes, willow dragonflies, or a small birdfeeder. They're separate options rather than one combined piece, all worked in the same technique. The results are decorative — pieces for the house or garden — rather than functional basketry, which suits anyone who wants to try the craft before committing to something more involved.
