Towards Silence

A one-hour invitation to listen differently

Towards Silence brings piano, spoken word and stillness together in an immersive performance by Cassie Yukawa-McBurney and Simon McBurney. Music and voice emerge, recede and meet the acoustics of Holy Trinity Church, creating a shared space for deep listening rather than a conventional recital.

The work is described as ever-evolving, shaped by the architecture and energy of each venue, so this Stroud performance will be specific to its setting. It also draws on poets appearing at the Dobunni Poetry Festival, making it a thoughtful fit for anyone curious about the quieter edges of live music and spoken word.

Ticketed. The church has limited parking, and access is mostly by arrangement, with priority disabled access and an accessible toilet listed by the venue.
