Six of the Best

Six new ten-minute plays, read live in Stroud

"Six of the Best" brings six shortlisted ten-minute plays by local writers to the Cotswold Playhouse as rehearsed readings by the Cotswold Players. A panel of judges will choose a winner, so the audience sees new work at the point where it meets a live room.

The line-up is A Lesson in Revenge by Simon Moss, Jesus in the Fridge by Carol Sheppard and The Waiting Game by Archie Woolls. The Gasman Cometh by Stephen Connolly, Die Young, Stay Pretty by Kate Arnold and Mekong Deliveries by Neil Walden complete the programme.

Doors open at 1.30pm for the 2pm start, and the event runs to 4pm as part of the Play On Stroud festival weekend. The Playhouse has a 150-seat raked auditorium, licensed bar and theatre lounge.

Row A is step-free, with two wheelchair spaces available when booked in advance; other rows are reached by steps. Parliament Street Car Park is about a five-minute walk from the theatre, and the venue asks anyone needing carer or support-dog arrangements to contact the box office ahead.

Ticketed. Advance booking recommended.
