About this event

Turn silver clay into solid silver jewellery

Silver clay — fine silver particles suspended in a burnaway binder — lets you do proper silversmithing without a hammer, solder, or a jeweller's bench full of kit. You model it, texture it, and fire it, and what comes out is solid silver.

Lechlade Craft Barn is running a full-day introduction with Jo Richards of Faye Benjamin Jewellery, who has been making and teaching silver clay work for over 25 years. You choose what to make — pendant, drop earrings, or bracelet charms — and there's usually enough clay for more than one piece. If you want a touch of sparkle, you can set a cubic zirconia in one of your pieces. The kiln is on site, so you leave with finished solid silver jewellery in your hand.

The fee covers equipment, tea, coffee, and biscuits. Materials — 7g of silver clay — are an additional charge payable on the day. Bring your own lunch and an apron if you have one.
