Rusty Riders

A steadier way back onto the road

Rusty Riders starts with a bike safety check, followed by a proficiency assessment and practical coaching on balance, handling and gears. The two-hour session finishes with a guided road ride, so there is a chance to use the pointers straight away.

It is aimed at people who are new to cycling or returning after a break. Meet at the public bicycle repair station outside the leisure centre, and check the organiser's page within 24 hours in case weather or volunteer availability forces a cancellation.

Optional preregistration is available through British Cycling, although the organiser has not stated a charge.

The leisure centre lists a free 64-space car park with three accessible bays, plus bus routes S3, X9, 50, 448 and 449.
