RBO: The Nutcracker (12A)

Clara's Christmas party is only the beginning

Drosselmeyer and his nutcracker doll lead Clara from a Christmas party into a world of snow, living toys and the Kingdom of Sweets. This Royal Ballet cinema screening brings Peter Wright's production to Chipping Norton, with Tchaikovsky's score and Julia Trevelyan Oman's period designs.

A transforming Christmas tree sets the scale of Clara's adventure, while the music includes the Waltz of the Flowers and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Allow around two hours 20 minutes including an interval; the screening is rated 12A.
