Money for Nothing, Chipping Norton Edition

Dire Straits stopped touring decades ago, but Mark Knopfler's guitar sound gets a proper airing at The Theatre this September, courtesy of a six-piece built entirely around getting it right.

Dire Streets have spent more than ten years playing UK theatres, and their own billing calls them the standout Dire Straits tribute working in Britain today. There's no costume or lookalike casting involved, just a close recreation of Knopfler's guitar tone and half-spoken vocal delivery across a two-hour set that mixes faithful studio versions with extended live arrangements.

For anyone who grew up on that sound, this is as close as it gets to hearing it played properly since the band stopped touring.
