A drop-in cinema for poetry in an old chapel

Dobunni Poetry Festival turns the Chapels of Rest at Stroud Cemetery into a drop-in cinema for a selection of poetry films curated by Alun Hughes. The programme is still to be announced, so no filmmakers or titles have yet been confirmed.

There is no fixed screening to catch: films play on a loop and visitors can come and go throughout the afternoon. The room holds up to 40 people, and if it is full you can explore the adjacent Living Matter sound installation or walk around the cemetery's nature reserve.

The cemetery has no visitor parking, and although paths are tarmac, the site includes steep slopes and trip hazards away from the paths. It is also a working cemetery with an infant burial area, so visitors should be mindful of the setting.
