Midsummer Market, Stroud Brewery

Thirty-five local makers take over two floors of Stroud Brewery for the longest day of the year — and the canal terrace is there when you need a break from the stalls.

The Balcony Bar and Loft are transformed for the day into a marketplace of handmade and independent goods: browse, pick up something you didn't know you needed, then take a pint of organic beer outside by the water.

The brewery kitchen is open for lunch. Entry is free. Stroud does this kind of thing well — the building, the waterside setting, and a proper independent crowd make it an easy Sunday well spent.
