About this event
Living Matter turns the Chapels of Rest into a 40-minute spatial sound installation, weaving poetry, music, song and field recordings into a multisensory work. Its starting point is the ancient landscape, with an invitation to listen closely to the more-than-human world.
The collaboration brings together composer Mara Simpson, sound engineer Tobin Jones, poet JLM Morton and artist Narna Hue. The wider work uses poetic hangings, listening points and natural materials, although the organisers do not specify which elements will appear in this session.
This is a drop-in event, so you can come and go during the Saturday session. The room holds up to 40 people; if it is full, the adjacent room has film and sound recordings, or you can walk around the nature reserve.
Free entry. No booking required.
