About this event
Lechlade Craft Barn started life in 2014 when Karen Holland and Jennie Turner-Maskell converted an old stone barn at Karen's Cotswold home into a workshop space, and this beginners' crochet day is one of the classes that has kept people coming back since. The barn is reached via external stone steps with handrails, worth knowing if mobility is a concern, but once inside it works like a proper craft studio rather than a converted outbuilding with a table in it.
The group starts together on the foundation chain and basic stitches before everyone settles into their own pace, with numbers kept small so there's real attention for anyone starting from nothing. Over the five-hour session you'll learn to change yarn colour cleanly, build granny squares and stripes, and read a written pattern alongside its stitch diagram, the bit that lets you carry on alone once you're home. Materials, a hook to keep, and tea and coffee are included; bring your own lunch.
Five hours in you'll have a stack of granny squares, a hook that's yours, and a craft you can pick back up any evening you fancy.
