Introduction to Modern Calligraphy with Festive Gift Tags

Turn festive lettering into something you can actually use

Start with the tools and marks behind modern calligraphy, then work through alphabet practice and whole words before using the skills on personalised luggage and gift tags. Emma Barnes of Emerald Paper Design demonstrates each step and offers individual guidance, making the workshop suitable for beginners or anyone wanting a refresher.

Worksheets, a nib, holder and ink are provided to take away for further practice. The workshop is for adults aged 18 and over; bring something to carry your work home in and a lidded drink, as food is not permitted in the studio.

New Brewery Arts has wheelchair-accessible studios, a lift and a ground-floor disabled toilet. Brewery Car Park is about 30 metres away, and Blend cafe is open until 4pm.

Booking is required through New Brewery Arts.
