Historic Cyanotype Printing

Make blueprints with sunlight, leaves and a Cirencester hare

Join cyanotype artist Laurinda Bellew for a hands-on introduction to this camera-less printmaking process. You will work with pre-coated paper or fabric, arrange flowers, leaves and other objects, and expose your designs under UV light before rinsing and drying the prints.

The day also explores wet cyanotype using bubbles, spices, salt, vinegar and water, with handmade stencils of Cirencester's hare motif making an appearance. It is designed for beginners, and you will leave with your own blueprints plus enough knowledge to keep experimenting at home.

This adults-only workshop includes all materials and safety equipment. Bring an apron or wear clothes you are happy to get messy in, plus a lidded bottle of water; food and unlidded drinks are not allowed in the studio.

The studios are wheelchair accessible, and the team asks anyone who may find standing difficult to mention it when booking. The nearest council car park is The Brewery, about two minutes away, with disabled spaces.
