Let the sewing machine draw your design

Turn a sketch into expressive stitched lines with textile designer Lichen Davenport, whose work explores sustainable textiles and decorative repair. You will experiment with threads, colour and texture as you guide the fabric through a sewing machine.

Complete beginners and experienced makers are welcome, with templates available if you would rather start from an existing design. All materials are supplied, and you can take home a textile sample or bring a cotton garment or tote bag to personalise and upcycle.

The workshop is for adults aged 18 and over, in the second-floor Scissors Studio, reached by stairs or lift. Bring a lidded water bottle, as food is not allowed in the studio; Blend cafe serves refreshments on site until 4pm.

Ticketed. Book through New Brewery Arts, with a waiting list if the session fills.
