About this event
The story begins in Anchorage in 1964, after the largest earthquake in US history leaves the city in crisis. A part-time radio reporter, her teenage intern, a general on leave and a local hobbyist are pulled into a relief effort. Live on air, Genie Chance must keep the information moving as temperatures plummet and news of an even greater threat arrives.
Maybe You Like It combines this true story of community survival with frenetic action, frantic multi-roling and immersive live sound. The company describes its work as accessible and comedic, with a fluid filmic style and metatheatrical humour. The production was developed with support from Theatre Royal Plymouth and The Pleasance for the Edinburgh National Partnerships Programme.
The performance is recommended for ages 12 and over and runs for 1 hour 10 minutes. The Theatre has level access to the stalls, bar, ticket collection and accessible toilet through its Spring Street bar door, while balcony and gallery areas require stairs, so contact the box office in advance about wheelchair spaces or other access needs.
Ticketed. Booking required.
